3M?Ö Maintenance Sorbent Mini-Boom, T-12 is a petroleum sorbent mini-boom is a selective sorbent which will "sorb" hydrocarbon-based liquids (oleophilic), repel aqueous-based liquids (hydrophobic). Mini-booms are typically used because of their tube-like shape to encircle spills and contain leaks. A 3 in (76 mm) diameter scrim on the outside of the boom identifies the use while containing particulate sorbent material. Each case contains twelve 4-foot (1.2 m) long mini booms, which are designed to sorb 1 gallon each.
